Couple
Walk hand-in-hand
Gray, slow, stooping with age
Quiet words exchanged bringing smiles
Their life

/ March 20, 2013Awww … I see that very often as there are many elderly in Florida. The one’s who still feel connected with their spouse hold hands as if they were young. Tender and touching ….

/ April 6, 2013When I see elderly couples like that I think that they may be newlyweds or they’re boyfriend/girlfriend. We have an elderly man who lives down the street and he has several “girlfriends.” They walk his dog with him sometimes past our house. But I know there are some long-wedded and happy couples like that…warms the heart.

/ April 6, 2013This is so beautiful. When I was child I used to visit the elderly people who lived in my grandmother’s neighborhood (yes I really did knock on strangers doors and talk to them). I met an elderly couple the woman was in a bad way she was blind and mute and had had a number of strokes, but the man sat beside her everyday reading novels, tenderly caring for her. He had such tremendous respect and love for her you could just see it in his eyes, sense it radiating from his whole being, that was when I knew love existed and that it could last.

/ April 6, 2013You know what’s beautiful is that you saw that love in that elderly gentleman’s eyes for his wife. And, you’ve remembered it all these years…pretty powerful that it made that impression on you. Thanks for sharing a very dear memory.
