Feeling bliss this time would come
Bliss arrived when I did see
This when awakened shall I feel
Time I shall be ever free
Would did I ever feel today
Come see feel free today always

Today, Semaphore (Sam) shows us the clever Square Poem at FormForAll with an example by Lewis Carroll: http://dversepoets.com/2012/06/28/form-for-all-square-poems/
Mine reads both horizontally and in columns…well it’s supposed to make sense if you do it this way! It hurt my brain but it was fun.

/ June 28, 2012Nice one, Bodhirose. Inviting: feel free today and always.
I am still thinking of how best to tackle this puzzling form. 🙂

/ June 28, 2012Well thanks…it sure was a brain twister. I sometimes feel that the Linky doesn’t stay open long enough for some of these forms… But good luck with coming up with something…I’ll come by and check.

/ June 28, 2012it’s interesting how you want to be free, but the words seem trapped in the form, and you want to escape this form, and go back to your own freeform…it’s cool how you can bring that across. it was very hard to write!!

/ June 28, 2012Definitely makes it easier to read as a square poem when you space it that way. When I wrote mine, I used Excel spreadsheets… I’m pretty sure Microsoft didn’t expect that piece of software to be used for poetry!

/ June 28, 2012Definitely easier to read as a square poem when you space it like that! These are the first types of poems where I used an Excel spreadsheet for composing… I’m pretty sure poetry wasn’t quite what they had in mind when they put that software together!

/ June 29, 2012Hiya,
this was so well done, that I did hurt my brain for you and turned it into an image: this shows the down lines more clearly. Take a look and feel free to use if it suits you.
I hope the link works as there is no preview in wordpress I can’t test it.
