Monday Morning Writing Prompt-Commercial Metaphor

Panasonic Auto-Steam Iron ®

 Smooths your clothes

With a burst of steam

Effortless ironing

Makes the chore easy

A spritz of water melts those wrinkles

The task’s relief in no time at all

 Sizzling summer

Steam arising

We feel like melting

Into the sidewalk

Over the horizon

A storm fast approaches

Oh sweet relief from all this bother!

  1. This is so cool…or hot! Very clever Gayle and so far you’re the only one who had the courage to try it. Thank you. Don’t know if I’ll be able to do one on Monday. Had a death in the family and need to fly to SoCal. Plans are still pending.

    • I went looking to see what others had done–and there were none!

So sorry to hear of your loss, Victoria–you have my condolences. Don’t worry about Monday…

      Thanks for coming by.

  7. This is an interesting take on Victoria’s prompt. I am one of the few odd people who likes to iron. I enjoyed it when irons weren’t steam irons and you had to starch the clothes by soaking them in a tub of liquid starch. Somehow, ironing has been a way for me to relax. I could focus and concentrate on the task at hand and feel like I had completed a task. The clothes looked pretty snazzy, too. I have had many people offer to send their laundry over for ironing. I like ironing but only enough to do my own. LOLOLOL

    • I used to iron for my mother when I was in my teens. There were eight of us and she couldn’t possibly keep up with all the ironing. She paid me–that was a big incentive! I remember the days before steam irons too–we would sprinkle water on the clothes and kind of roll them up while they waited for me to iron them. I think I used spray starch by then–I think. My Dad always ironed his own shirts and he’s the one who actually showed me how to do button-up shirts, starting with the collars, and then the back yoke, etc. He had a system and then it became mine. I still use it today.

I don’t really mind doing my own ironing but I wouldn’t want to do it for eight people again!

Thanks for sharing your ironing experience with me, Izzy!

      Hugs… xoxo
