It was a day like no other
because it had never been
before. There had never
been a sky like this.
There were less leaves
on the gnarled oak.
Slowly the days dim
and grow shorter and
as summer fades, an
imperceptible hint
of fall teases in a breeze.

/ August 30, 2016oh yes…..your first stanza is filled with the hope that every day is indeed a new day and like no other that has been.
And yes — autumn is my favorite season so I love that tease of that little fall breeze — and then almost always, Indian Summer as my mother used to call it (I have no idea why) happens in mid-September and sometimes even in early October — those very hot days as if summer is saying — whoa!!! I’m not gone yet!! 🙂 That tease….
