I keep looking out
the kitchen window
hoping to catch
sight of the fox
that my daughter
has seen twice
in the wooded
lot next door.
Bobcats live out
here too…would
love to see one
of those.
Doesn’t happen today though.

/ January 13, 2013It is funny that your poem mentions the
sighting of a fox, I only saw one last evening
in my garden and she was lovely ๐ ๐
A wonderful effort Gayle, I like it a lot ๐

/ January 14, 2013You’ll catch a glimpse of them when you don’t expect them, that’s how it is sometimes. What a wonder to be able to see a fox or a bobcat in your surrounds!

/ January 15, 2013Hi, Gayle. Apologies for my absence. I’m attempting to catch up on your posts – as many as I can.
I saw a fox a couple of weeks ago, just crossing the road in the middle of the day as I was driving along. My most exciting nature observations have been when least expected.
I love your ‘small stones’ – there is so much beauty and wonder in observing the life around us!

/ January 17, 2013Very kind of you, Diane. But I never expect people to push themselves to catch up when they’re so busy with others activities. I’m not doing such a good job on visiting people myself. I seem so distracted lately. Not so inspired to write much either. These small stones are working great for me…not too much to deal with and it’s easy for me to write on an observation. I’m glad you’re enjoying them.
That fox! Oh my goodness! Have been looking for him ever since my daughter told me she spied him twice out there…jumping around in the bushy lot behind her house. You’re probably right too…about when we least expect it…we see something wonderful. Thanks for coming by.
