My Queen holds the sugar
while I hold the cinnamon.
We’re the perfect pairing
in breakfast’s kitchen.
She hasn’t arrived yet,
no pomp and circumstance,
she enters quietly with
delicate, sweet decorum.
A shake of us both
upon the
toast, serves it up sweet
for that perfect treat.

I hope the grandchildren have fun with the poem!

/ October 14, 2011Yes a clever take on the theme. I recognise it but I take neither cinnamon nor sugar in my coffee. I like just coffee and a small amount of milky froth :).

/ October 15, 2011Yes, it’s a new one. WordPress was retiring my theme and replacing it with this one–so I changed to this new one called “Dusk to Dawn”. If you scroll up and down, you’ll see that it changes from dark blue to a golden yellow color–dusk to dawn. I like the font and easy reading of this one too. Thanks for noticing!
Hugs,
Gayle
