Cool, calm, crisp moon
Brilliant light illuminates
The stillness captured by your beams
All seems quiet in this scene.
Sparkling twinkles surrounds complete
A perfect white orb brings my peace
I walk a path alit by you
Many have tread where I go too
Selfless light shines same on all
Graciously noble, ancient Mother

/ May 7, 2011Beautiful picture—but the poem does not need any assistance.
Is it a look at the natural order of the earth or universe?
I like …selfless light shines same on all…I have my own interpretation of it.

/ May 8, 2011You’re so right! I looked and looked for a moon picture that I liked and settled for something I wasn’t totally happy with–it’s gone now. Thanks for your expert opinion, Jaye–that just what I needed.
I love your take on this poem. To me, it’s another way that I can find guidance through nature (or universal energy).
Thanks for your lovely comment,
Gayle xoxo

/ May 10, 2011I really liked this write! I think women have such a deep relationship and appreciation of “Mother Moon” that even the ancient poets knew it and recognized it. Threefold Goddess, we are all connected. )O( 🙂 P.S. I didn’t see the picture posted with this, but definitely agree with the first commenter – it doesn’t need a picture, your words paint one so well!

/ May 11, 2011Thank you so very much, Dragonkatet. I think you are so right too about women and our relationship to the moon–we mimic the cycles after all, don’t we. We are universally connected for sure–I like that thought.
I removed that photo right away–Jaye was right–I didn’t need it. And thanks again for your kind words. You’re a sweet heart.

/ May 11, 2011Dearest Lahn, thank you for your loving comment. You know it brought deep feelings up for me too and I think it’s because I lack a real connection with my own mother and somehow this poem made that very clear to me and I feel very sad about that.
I have had to look elsewhere (maybe in a poem) to find my sweet, nurturing mothering.
