A New Revolution

SCCRRRAAAATCH
the past revolutions!
Our rhythm heralds
a different way.
Perhaps we won’t
be so peaceful!
We’ll run amok
and churn up
the muck!
Change will
come, Oh Yes!
Starting with
YOU THERE, all
cushy ensconced
in your lifelong
tenure of perks!
Public “servants”?
MY ASS!
Your time has come
and you are gone!
The future belongs
to us all now, not
just a select few.
We RAGE at paths
lined in blood!
We are damning the
torpedoes that lay
waste to countless
innocent lives!
Link arms and
put up a united
front to end this
insanity that is
rooted in politics.
It’s a ruse DON’T YOU SEE?
We’re being royally
BAMBOOZLED!
Nothing is untouched
by the ravages of this
cesspool of corruption.
We’re pulling the plug
and letting the sewage
be absorbed into the
void that it deserves.
Slate clean lies our future.
Lay down your pens
and put aside your
intellect and FEEL
GODDAMIT!!!!
If we lose our hearts
we lose everything.

Victoria is our host at dVerse Open Link Night but couldn’t be with us today because of a family emergency.  Our hearts go out to her.

Platitudes

Frost
permeates
throughout,
its tentacles
of ice
preventing
us to dance.

A dullness
accompanies
this plague,
a migraine that
thuds and
bellows
oblivion.

Plodding
along, our
feet leaden,
our thinking
caustic and
sickened
by the erosion
of our being,
opaque rime lingers

Creeping
ever so slowly,
a provocative
drama is being
played out.
The elected
actors merely
puppets of a
higher power.
(A higher
power…not a
power looking
out for our best
interests.)

An avalanche
of platitudes
has taken
our warmth,
our quickness,
our life force,
our Source.

Karin Gustafson invites us to dig deep into metaphors over a dVerse Poets:  http://dversepoets.com/2014/09/11/meeting-the-bar-following-through-on-metaphor/

Frenemies

skitter, scatter
run for your lives

you’re all alone
anyway…
lies, lies, lies

beware what
surrounds you
and whispers
in your ear

the bogeyman
is lurking
right by your side

innocence wavers
as confusion
sets forth

led down
a path that
is murky with filth

you want to
believe but
you know
you can’t

lifetime
diminished
by sugar-
coated sleek

far-reaching
tentacles
shroud your
eyes

one misstep
this way
and you’ll
be
consumed
by
the
frenemy

The Ancient Masters…

“The ancient Masters
didn’t try to educate the people,
but kindly taught them to not know.

When they think that they know the answers,
people are difficult to guide.
When they know that they don’t know,
people can find their own way.

If you want to learn how to govern,
avoid being clever or rich.
The simplest pattern is the clearest.
Content with an ordinary life,
you can show all people the way
back to their own true nature.”

Perhaps all current…and future candidates who run for office should be required to read the “Tao te Ching” and agree to govern accordingly.  And if you don’t understand it…you don’t belong in office.
