Purification

the pleasant aroma wafts

about the room

filling it by the ancient ritual

similar to smudging to purify

cleanse and uplift my surroundings

the tiny plume of smoke arising

from the incense stick

connects me to heaven

and

awakens

memories

of

fragrant

night-blooming

jasmine

  4. Bodhirose, I’m a big fan and nightly user of incense. I’m sure it takes me to places in the dream world I wouldn’t ordinarily travel to. Glad to meet another “burner.”

    • And I’m glad to meet another “burner” too! To me it feels like a smudging as it really does seem to give me a lift when I have a stick going. 🙂

    • Hi Truedessa, nice to have you visit again! And I think that’s a wonderful ritual. Things feel so “fresh” afterwards.

      • I will give you a call when I can. I have moved from my daughter’s house to a man’s home. I actually went online to meet someone and was there for five months before I met him. There was one other and we remain friends. I just could not live with my daughter indefinitely no matter how much I love her…as you would understand. Do take good care and I do hope you are doing well.
