Mujo; a Haibun

moonflowers

Moonflowers by Nampu Katayama; Bing Images

These days my heart is aflutter and excitement is coursing through my every cell it seems. I feel almost electric and distracted at times too.  There is a strong memory of these feelings from my past and yet in a way I’m more in control of my faculties than I was before.  Perhaps it’s because I realize the impermanence of relationships.  No-thing lasts forever but I’m ready to take advantage of what has presented itself and to see where it goes and I along with it for however long it lasts…and enjoy the journey.

      • I would love you to. I’ve been busy writing my novel and the poetic muse hasn’t been stirred because I have this other writing to do. Hope to get back into it soon! But have been following some of the Dverse poetry. It is so good and imaginative with prompts and responses.

        • Thank you for that, Georgia! I understand about the poetic muse going missing…writing a novel I’m sure is taking up much of your focus. It’s nice, though, that you stop in now and then to read and comment. xo

Life is risk. I know this as well as anyone after cheating death repeatedly. But I also know that who dares wins. Take it. Take the victory. It may not last forever. You never know.

  9. The impermanence of relationships make us more appreciative of the present and loved ones. and your haiku’s moon flower is a perfect metaphor.

One cruise along and enjoy whatever comes along. Good policy not to restrict one’s freedom to choose!
