while eyes gently closed
third eye streaming energy
I feel the river
my mind loose and free, follows
its path, moves downstream
flow is effortless and calm
eddy of water
catches twigs, leaves and debris
momentarily
trapped but not knowing struggle
organically
they dislodge and float onward
all moves as it should
no tension is inherent
nothing impedes its
progress, even whilst frozen
and its reflection opaque

/ April 28, 2016Oh, this is a perfect guided meditation. I should copy it–talk about balance! Thanks for sharing it, Gayle.

/ April 28, 2016I felt meditative when I wrote this, Victoria…it was pretty soothing to write it! I just sent you an email about linking up early. I did link this early but had questions as to whether I put it in the right place. I saw that Lillian had linked up but I saw no identifying meme…such as OLN, or end time, etc. I’ll let you read it and let me know if I linked it up correctly. Thanks, Victoria!

/ April 28, 2016It’s good. I don’t know how to add the meme! I’m the last one to ask about tech stuff. :0)

/ April 28, 2016How true this is. When we let go, all the debris flows along. I like this thought and certainly shall take it as part of my relaxation thinking. Peaceful and soothing.

/ April 28, 2016Well, I’m going to ditto Victoria. I do some guided meditation, lay on the floor, headphones on, listening, eyes closed. This would be a great guided meditation. Feel the river, follow it downstream, feel yourself floating in the water. Beautiful!

/ April 28, 2016For me, the problem of letting go, is that my human need for balance based on a modicum of control becomes disconnected (as it should be, I’m told). Meditation, like hypnosis, just seems to be fruitless for me. I can never fully silence the words, thoughts, & image poring from me like magma in Hawaii. But, hey, I understand & appreciate the concept regardless. I like your end lines /nothing impedes its/progress, even whilst frozen/ which seems to describe my mind.

/ April 30, 2016Thanks for your thoughts here, Glenn. Many people think that to meditate successfully all thoughts, feelings, images that come up should be stopped. That really isn’t the case. The point, as I’ve been instructed, is to acknowledge those things but not to react to them…either negatively or positively…just notice them and then bring your attention back to your breathing or what other focus you were meditating on. Over a period of practice, the idea is to get to a place of less reaction to outside influences and thus feel more centered or peaceful through all that life can throw you.
