Why if Trump became our next
President he would have the U.S.
running smoothly with pride again.
He’s promised to deport all the
illegal immigrants and build a
“big, beautiful wall” with a “big,
beautiful door” and have Mexico
pay for it. A deportation force
would quickly round them all up,
including their children and head
them all back from where they came.
He would clean up the gangs that
have been running rampant in this
country and empower our country’s
police forces to take whatever
measures were necessary to
get the job done. He’ll implement
a program to stop Muslims from
entering the U.S. and is proposing
that more citizens take up arms
so that we can shoot any terrorists
on the spot and won’t have to
wait around for the authorities
to save us. I think his outspoken
manner is just what this country
has needed. He’s so rich he doesn’t
give a fuck what anyone thinks
about his ideas. Forget “political
correctness” or diplomacy.
Who needs it?!
He’s not a politician,
he’s a businessman and he’ll get
this country running like a well-oiled
business. He’s advocating cooperative
relationships with Putin and Kim Jong-Un.
We would be in excellent hands.

Join K.A. Brace over at dverse Poets where our guest host explains the Persona poem to us:

I want to be VERY clear that these are NOT my thoughts on Trump.  The prompt was to choose a point of view of someone unlike your own.  I couldn’t think of anyone less like me than Donald Trump.

  2. Hmmm ‘a businessman’…

  3. Fortunately, I am already an ex-pat. Whew!!! 😉

  4. The voice of one of his followers sounds like mockery of all we live for… and yet this is that (t)reason… maybe

  5. Ha, interesting! The first idea I had was to write a poem from the point of view of Donald Trump. He definitely has a way of playing on people’s emotions and distracting them from the things that are more important or criticizing his opponents in either party. I do hope that he will fall flat on his face in Iowa and New Hampshire and beyond. Imagine what his money could do for those who live in poverty! Thanks for this.

    • Well that is interesting, Mary, that you had the idea to write from his pov. I am stunned beyond belief that he has the support that he does.

  6. I really hope that he will win the Republication nomination so Clinton can get elected~ He is a puppet master and knows how to manipulate people ~ I do hope the American peeps can see through him ~

    • I’m truly amazed that he has the following that he does. I guess he’s just so different from what we’ve had to choose from that some people have gotten totally dazzled by his outspoken, manipulative idiocy. I hope you are right, Grace.

  7. It’s a scary perspective. But unfortunately some feel safe under certain regimes until they implode.

  8. Brilliant! Love your take on the prompt 🙂

  9. Yeeeow! To see the “voice” of the Trump followers is even more frightening than to hear his voice. Makes my skin crawl. That means you’ve really adopted the personna quite successfully here.

    • I can’t listen to his voice. I don’t want any of my energy expended on him. Well, I guess I should take making your skin crawl as a compliment…and I will, thank you! :~)

  10. You captured the persona perfectly.. Yikes.. can you image the carnage in the aftermath!

  11. I read a deep sarcasm hidden underneath the real problems and hope. Interesting piece.

  12. Unattributed quote: “Walls are not tools of defense but isolation”…

Trump will put us into World War 111. Deporting thousands and thousands of Mexcans will only infuriate their government. The U.S. will no longer have a friend on our southern border. Vacationing in Mexico will be a thing of the past. Imagine Trump meeting with world leaders! We need allies and not enemies. Trump is very redneck and has no diplomacy and has tantrums. World War 111 will send your children/fathers etc. to a war. Please check into our history. Trump is the closest thing to Hitler.

    • Hi Burt, thanks for your comment. I wrote this as a prompt to write something from the point of view of someone NOT like yourself…so this is SO not what I think about Trump. I agree with you and realize the trouble the US will suffer at the hands of the ignorant and impetuous Mr. Trump.
