Breathing In by Brooke Shaden: http://brookeshaden.com/gallery/?page=1&title=breathing_in
Each new inhalation
brings life anew
as if coming forth
from the womb.
Floating in wisdom,
the breath carries
me in peace and
holds me in
gentle repose.
Freedom is the
all encompassing
space that
surrounds me.
The endless
vibration of
my soul
reverberates
throughout
all of time.
And I rest here.
In quiet stillness.
Merged in joy.
With all that exists.

/ September 24, 2014The poem is so lovely–tranquil, in fact. Yet the picture seems to contradict the notion of the free breath. The woman is under water. Am I misinterpreting something?

/ September 24, 2014Well my usually very analytical mind didn’t go there, Lorna. I just looked at it as if she was in a womb-like environment being held there in safety and peace. I usually go with what first pops into my mind and that was it. 🙂

/ September 24, 2014Interesting – I used reverberation in my poem – there is something silent, yet profound in many of her images. I too thought of the womb when I saw this image … A very gentle poem.
