Small Stone # 17

I reach out to my sister
this morning…stress is
overwhelming her.
I’ve heard the stories
before.  I must use
restraint and not get
caught up in the drama
or I’ll find myself
feeling the way she does.

My entry for the Mindful Writing Challenge through Writing Our Way Home:

  1. Wise! Stress is very contagious.

  2. I am trying to practice “observation” without being pulled into the drama … a definite challenge.

(I do not “do” many awards, but I could not pass this one up in
order to pass it on to you. I have nominated you for Blogger of the Year Award for 2012 … well deserved. Thank you for wonderful moments of reading in 2012.

    • It sure is a challenge, Becca, but worth the practice of detached compassion. I don’t do many awards either but I think I’m going to have to accept this one, Becca. Others have gifted me this one too and I have to go back a ways and acknowledge them It is so kind and generous of you to submit this award to me. Thank you very much. I am very honored. xoxo

  3. That’s a lesson learned and good advice to others.

  4. So wise ~ I seem to be a magnet for stressed people and it can destroy my calm, particularly when it’s close family. So I end up not contacting them, which isn’t very kind. Next time I’ll remember these words! Thank you, Gayle! 🙂

    • This has been a very long ongoing problem and people tend to move at their own pace in how they want to handle things…so be it…but it’s hard to stand by sometimes and watch the pain continue. I stay tuned in but I don’t want to be consumed by it any longer. I’ll try to remember these words too, Jacqueline! 🙂

  5. Hello Gayle! I know Becca has already offered but for this award you can add ‘stars’ so perhaps you can add another from me. You have been so encouraging and cannot thank you enough. You are a gifted writer and I am so blessed that our paths crossed. Please do take care.

    • Oh, my goodness, I’m so very honored by this, Renee. Truly you are so kind to want to bestow this award to me. Yes, I will accept this and I believe that someone else gave this to me too…besides Becca. I’m going to have to look back and see. I’ve been so lax in my duties here. Thank you, Renee. It’s been nice being of support and I’m so glad how things turned out for you…you too are quite a gifted writer you know. Well, I hope you know! 😉

  6. Wonderful.
