Expansion: A Tritina

Photo:  Google Images

Beneath the peat-rich soil a kernel sprouts
Warmed by the sun it shoots to expand
Pushing through earth’s loam it seeks success

Spring encompasses all and urges success
By increments she touches every sprout
Ardent in her discipline to support expand

Seedling thrives through organic expand
Light…dark…climate, systemically feeds success
Growing beauty flowering from sprout

Delicate sprout, your perseverance expands, creating success

Today at dVerse Poets for FormForAll, Samuel Peralta (Semaphore) shows us the Tritina form: http://dversepoets.com/2012/08/30/form-for-all-on-tritinas/

  6. I never used to understand why things have to die, but as we age we begin to realise just as with Mother nature, all things have to die so that new life can be born again. This is lovely Gayle.

  8. You worked this form wonderfully. Definitely those sprouts are persistent eventually producing a beautiful mature plant. A miracle really. Your poem definitely is testament to that.

  10. Good work with the form… the evolution and growth of the plant is an interesting counterpoint to the cyclic, but more static, natue of the tritina.

The more I read these tritinas, the more I’m loving the form. You’ve done a lovely job here. I had to plant some things twice this year, as my first seedlings had to face an out-of-whack system, which –alas!– did not feed success.

  16. Gayle, it was nice to have a glimpse of spring which seems so far off and so long ago. I enjoyed your theme, the words you chose and your execution of the form. Great images.

  17. Your choice of end words allowed this to feel like a “round” as all nature is a cycle. You explore it in the progression of life from point to point. Very effective!

A lovely organic feel to this, matching the subject material, one growing out of the other.
