Breathe

Picture:  Google Images

when discord invades
and feeling unsettled
take a moment to breathe
deeply and become anchored

as simple as this it can
restore your harmony
the breath…in and out
rebuilding your energy

your soul will find ease
rejoice and feel triumph
as you inhale slowly
exhaling all that imposes

focus on good things
rejecting the negative
you’ll never fail
in fulfilling your purpose

  2. Gayle…I just figured out why my attempt at golf this morning was a failure. I haven’t played in a while and I had figured out that the best shots worked around my breathing. This is such wise advice.

    • Well, I’m glad this created a link (no pun intended) as to why your golf was off today. The power of the breath is pretty amazing. Thanks, Victoria.

  3. I could not agree with you more here. I think we can feel so much better if we just slow ourselves down and pay attention as we BREATHE. I love your thoughts and thank you for taking part in Vice / Versa!

  6. Lovely message, one I’ll need to remember often. I can so often forget the value of slowing down and taking a deep, love-filled breath.

    • Thanks, Serena. I forget to do this too…but it really does help to take a few moments and become centered…especially if feeling stressed.

  7. Taking deep breath is a healthy thing in many instances. Sometimes pausing a while in front of the computer can do a lot of good! Nice thought Gayle!

  9. This reminds me of my meditation practice and why I keep going to sit for half an hour to just watch my mind wander off and gently pull it back to my breath.

    • Why thank you, Androgoth. Oh, it’s been a pretty quiet week so far…could be having a hurricane hit Florida by the weekend though…no telling where it may go at this point. Shouldn’t be a strong one by the time it reaches us…if it even does. Hope all is well with you. 🙂 xoxo

  12. This takes daily practice and even so, sometimes very difficult to sit and just breath. I struggle largely with impatience I think.

These lines would work well to focus thoughts on the breath. Much appreciated this poem. 🙂
