Such Good Taste

Lemony sour
makes my
mouth pucker
as well as
yogurt, plain
unadulterated.

I enjoy
bitter coffee,
warm and
comforting,
only blended
with cream and
sugar to sweeten.

Fruits, nuts,
carrots and honey
made by bees–
sweet comes
naturally in so
many foods.

Tannins are
astringent
and dry the
mouth–some
are found in
tea, wine and
fresh ripened herbs.

A trace of salt
is in most
naturally
grown foods
but don’t add
too much
of this flavor-
enhancing
stuff.

Piquant is
the most exotic
and my favorite
of tastes which
brings the
“heated” spice
of ginger,
black pepper
and curries to
my flavor-craving buds.

Ah, I love pieces like this. I do this type of write all the time. Take a definition or simply a word or a phrase and then talk about it for a bit. Then follow that up continuously in different angles. Touched the tastebuds for sure. Thanks, nice read:)

YUK … have to clean that up.
Yes … this is a trip down taste bud lane. I’d like a bitter cup of hot coffee – half decaf / half caf – with no sugar and one teaspoon no fat milk … Thank you ~~~~~ : – )

  14. Mmmmm you definitely captured some of the best experiences about tasting things! The stanza about coffee was one I related to – I adore Kona coffee (the real stuff, not the ‘blends’) more than just about anything in the world! 🙂 Yum! Well written!
