    • Thanks so much, Izzy.

Hey, I got a message from Jaye today. I sent her one back saying hi to her from you. She just said she’s enjoying her time there and that a friend sent some of her stories to an agent and the agent is interested in one of her stories. Good news!

      Hugs,
      Gayle xoxo

  3. I love this picture and the words you wrote to animate it. This is my kind of imagery–shadows, darkness, gentleness of the bright sun’s absence.

    Magic!

  4. I love to sit by our pond and watch the heron. It is almost as though he watches over the area for us, standing there so still. He also always makes me feel weightless when he “slowly” spreads those wings and lifts himself upward. I like this.

    • They are very graceful birds–we have some beautiful ones here. I’m glad you enjoyed this Leslie and that it brought some nice thoughts for you.

  5. This is lovely, both the photo and verse. I love observing herons when the opportunities arise.

(Your blog is also the first that I’ve come upon using the same template that I have!)

    • Thanks so much–they are lovely, graceful birds aren’t they.

I’ve only seen one other person’s template that is like mine–and now there is yours too–cool. I recently went looking at other themes to see if I should switch but I didn’t really see anything I liked better. 🙂

  6. A perfect haiku and a perfect photo. I love herons … Fortunately we have quite a few around here and I almost always see one or two when I am able to go for a bird work. Thanks for this little gem.

  12. Yes I think you have “captured” the essence of the haiku juxtaposing the twilight hour and its stillness with the stillness of the big bird. They are quite regal, I think. We have many here. They seem to measure people as they approach. Thank you for linking today.
