Hurricane Irene

blew by our coast.

Whew, we dodged

another one!

Squalls of wind

and rain came

and went for a day.

I’m sorry–it was

someone else’s

turn to get clobbered!

  1. Glad you dodged the brunt of the storm. That’s always good news for the fortunate.

    • We’ve had our fair share but I really was hoping for more rain from the outer bands of the storm. We stayed pretty dry for the most part.

    • As of this morning, it is in the New England area–where I also lived for a few years. I don’t wish a hurricane on anybody. It’s sad to hear of lives lost–many needlessly.

  5. So glad it missed you. That type of storm is a misery to be wished upon no one. Thanks for playing along with the Sunday 160.

    • Thanks–me too! I was surprised at how little rain we got, which we could have used. I guess it was too far offshore.

  11. This is so very true. We are usually sitting at the edge of our seats with hurricanes. Glad it didn’t come our way … sorry others had to feel the pain.
Very nice desriptions of these little buggers.

    • Those poor island people below the U.S. usually feel the brunt of many of those storms–I feel so bad for them.

      Thanks, Izzy.
