Limerick Challenge

Back in the days when Granny was but a young f...

A gal who seemed guileless and sweet

Had a habit of delightful deceit

When alone and concealed

She danced naked in heels

With the shades drawn so no one could peek

It wasn’t that she was a poor dancer

Or that she didn’t look good as a prancer

But the dance that she chose

Should be done on the toes

And fans used as a proper enhancer

  1. Big smile.

  2. I love it when you do funny. I have also loved some of your other recent work Gayle but time has not permitted me to log in and comment well, so I haven’t commented at all! Thank you for all your pieces of work you share with the world, they are all beautiful x

    • Oh, hi Tamasin! So nice to have you visit–and leave some words for me. πŸ™‚ I’ve hardly been on FB lately so haven’t been visiting you either. Sorry.

I’m happy you liked my funny limerick. I’d never tried one before but a prompt got me started.

What a lovely thing to say about my writing–truly very sweet and generous of you. Thank you! xoxo

  3. Oh! This is erotica.. lolsss
Jokes beside, this one is pretty clever write!

You managed to explained the image very well.. πŸ˜€
See I’m just unable to take my mind off it.. lolss

    Sending you many Hugs xoxox

    • Yeah, I bit of minor erotica. The image came after the poem–I found the perfect one that complimented it.

So glad you love it! πŸ™‚ xoxo

  4. ha ha!

i’ve been wanting to read some humour in poetry for sometime, especially with the unbearable summer and finals over my head, this rises to the occasion brilliantly!

    Thanx for sharing this.

Awesome limerick! Very funny and well written πŸ˜€ xx

  6. congratulations! writing limericks is one of the toughest things in my eyes. i tried to understand its rules and finally decided to not try it.

    • I really don’t know much about the rules but went more with the sound of it. They have a certain rhythm to them. And I guess they’re supposed to be funny.

      Thank you, Trisha.

  7. This is too cute. Isn’t it fun for a change. Actually, it’s not my challenge, it’s Mad Kane’s but glad you posted to hers.

  8. Big chuckles … Clever, clever, clever, Gayle! Thanks for the smile. Tuesday on the Light Side.

  9. πŸ™‚ Fun!

  10. Fun limerick! Thanks so much for participating in this week’s Limerick-Off. I hope you’ll become a regular. πŸ™‚ (I post a new Limerick-Off challenge every Sunday or Monday.)
