Sadness… An Announcement

I feel sadness today as I must let you all know that yesterday my daughter  suffered a miscarriage.  Her doctor was lovingly supportive of her as he told her that it is a common occurrence and for her not to worry that she won’t be able to carry a pregnancy to term in the future.  Even though our family is encouraged by his words, we are saddened that she and her husband have to go through this feeling of loss.

I appreciated the happiness that was shared with me as I looked forward to being a grandmother and I still have the hope that that will be the case someday–when the time comes.

  1. God only knows God’s ways. this was painful Gayle, we all have been hoping with you. I know she will be a mother soon but right now most probably she will need you near her- atleast she would have if she was an indian girl.

my heart goes out for Saraswati. its such a rude shock. i have full faith on God that she will be blessed with as many little ones as she wants in future.

poor darling. if its ok then be with her or bring her to you.

    • Yes, painful. But we feel encouraged too.

It wasn’t possible to be with her but we have spoken a lot on the phone. And she has her sister there with her and a lot of support.

      Thank you, Trisha.

      • Give my love to both Lakshmi and Saraswati. God bless them both. Hope she is better now.

      • She is doing very well both physically and emotionally. Still has some moments of sadness but is focusing ahead. She is a strong person–I’m very proud of her.

Thank you for your caring words and support, Trisha.

  2. aw, Gayle, I am so sorry for your loss and theirs, the little child that was meant to be for them will now watch from heaven, holding them in their grief. It is a harsh life experience which will never be forgotten. Wishing them some comfort from the pain x

    • Thank you for your sweetness, Tamasin. Yeah, it’s a hard thing to go through but I have faith that she will be able to have a child in the future. I appreciate your love and good wishes. It means a lot.

  3. Dearest Gayle,

Any loss is sad but the loss of a child that is about to come in the world and bring so much joy and happiness can be really devastating. As all little angels do, it has received it’s wings and will be hovering over all of you during this time of sadness and bring you comfort.

    My Deeepest Sympathy,

    • It’s amazing how invested you become so quickly with a pregnancy. We are feeling comforted and encouraged by my daughter’s doctor. It’s more common than we think.

Thank you, Isadora, for your sympathy and kindness.

  4. So sorry to hear that, same thing happened to my boss and his wife last year. Hope she can get through it and try again when the time is good. Hope all of you will be ok.

    • Thank you, Paulo. From what I have learned, it is a pretty common occurrence. She will be fine and will try again when she is able. I appreciate your kindness.

  5. I send my hugs for you and your daughter…

  6. Dear Gayle
Sorry to read your sad news. May you all recover from this and know the joy of children in the future.

    • Yes, it’s sad–but we are hanging in there and feeling confident and reassured. I appreciate your gentle and kind words. Thank you.

  7. Gayle, I’m so sorry for you and your daughter and all involved. I can’t begin to imagine the pain you all must be feeling.

    • Thank you, Victoria. It’s a hard thing to witness her sorrow but she is doing well and is very hopeful for the future. I am too.

  8. I am sorry to read about this!

Howsoever common any mis- happening be, to take it on oneself is painful. I understand the news of baby must have already included the baby into your family. A new member was already counted upon. New hopes, joys and plans start to take shape.

May Peace be with you and everyone else in the family.
    Hugs for your daughter!

    • It’s so true how quickly you start envisioning this new little being in your life. The excitement and joy just overtakes you…

Thank you, sweet Olivia, for your sweetness, kindness and concern.

      Love and gratitude… xoxo

  9. Gayle, I’m sorry for your family’s loss. I miscarried once too and was fortunate to have a very sympathetic doctor. I hope you all have moments of grace as you grieve. Hugs to all. Elizabeth

    • Thank you very much, Elizabeth, for your comforting words. We are having many moments of grace and are so very thankful for them. It is nice to hear from others who have had this experience too. I appreciate you leaving a message.

  10. I’m so sorry to hear this. God holds the answers to life difficult moments; he let us humans share in the joy and pain of those around. I hope he continues to supply the grace and his loving arms not only to your daughter and her husband, but to you as well.

    • Thank you, Apollorose, for leaving such an encouraging message. I appreciate you reaching out to me and my family. God has graced us with comfort and understanding and hope for the future.

  11. Poor little sprit may yet return to you. I am so sorry to learn this, Gayle, and hold you and yours in heart and prayer.

    In metta,

    • Yes, it still could return to finish it’s time with us. I will be open to whoever shows up! I so appreciate your love and prayers, it’s so very comforting.

      In metta…
