No Umbrella

Rain drops on a smoke tree leaf.

coming in from

the outside pouring,

lacking an umbrella to assist,

my hairdo is saturated,

and these shoes are

drenched and squishing-

the groceries will have to wait

    • That’s funny, Tamasin! I’m sure most people can relate to this one. Who hasn’t had to wait for the rain to let up sometimes before getting all the groceries inside. 🙂

      • I believe that is a bougainvillea plant. You probably have them in India too. They come in beautiful hues of pink, fuschia and lavenders.

      • Well, I do enjoy them very much. I mentioned another flowering tree on your site too today called the Orchid Tree that grows here. Look it up on Google and see if you are familiar with it. They do grow in India.

  7. Rain -such a distant memory in my part of the world. With the windchill it is supposed to feel like -20 tomorrow. That is -4F. Brrr, bring on rain and soggy potatoes any time!

    • Oh, it’s been a brutal winter this year for so many–but very mild here in Florida. My two sisters are getting hammered by below freezing temperatures in the middle of the U.S. I don’t know where you live, Katherine, but I hope this cold will be over soon for you–and my sisters.

      Thanks, Jamie.
