A Few Words

Heart Candle

Image by Bob.Fornal via FlickrI

I was so touched by your gesture;
do you know what it meant to me?
A few words said so sincerely,
leaving my heart so enraptured–
moments before my departure.
My soul soared with the meaning,
I felt joy for new beginnings.
A whole new journey before me,
now full with possibility,
all because of sweet murmurings.

  2. Thank you kindly for your nice remarks here. This is just my first attempt so really don’t consider myself a teacher of this style. Just wanted to try it. Let me know if you do too.

  3. Well done! I love the topic too. And how true – a kind word worth so much, much more than “things.” Thanks for the smile.

      That was a surprise for me to see the announcement made on the Poetry News. But I’m so very happy. Thank you for the congratulations too.

  10. It’s amazing how just the right words can make a person feel so good. 🙂 It’s one of the reasons I (and probably everyone at Jingle poetry) love poetry so much – the right words at the right time, in the right placement, etc. This was a wonderful piece with such simple and uplifting truth! 🙂

    • It’s so true–just a few loving words can make all the difference to someone.

      The challenge of putting just the right words together to convey a thought, feeling or message is one I’ve really come to enjoy too.

      Thank you for such a generous comment. 🙂
