Celebrate Your Self

Celebrate your Self honoring

every moment of your breath.

Breathing in deeply, take stock of within.

Breathing out slowly, what do you feel?

Is something joyful tickling your heart or are

you struggling with a painful twinge in your arm?

Just take notice as these sensations arise

and then let them go gently, leaving judgment behind.

Your life is a meditation, itโ€™s not formal at all;

mindfulness can be practiced at any time you resolve.

So simple this practice but not so easy to do;

the insight of your life–an investigational tool.

Place your mind upon only what is presently now,

as awareness increases, your ease will abound.

Just ask yourself this, โ€œAm I paying attention?โ€, as you

watch your life unfold in minute, consecutive celebrations.

    I found myself being hypnotised by these words! Just reading them made me slow down in my mad rush around Potluck. A lovely write – well done, with an important message.

  5. If I pay any more attention than I already have, I’m gonna go broke! ๐Ÿ™‚
    The only thing minute and consecutive in my life right now (I like your last line, btw!)
    is the very slight feeling that I am leaning over and about to fall for good.
    Not for once and for all mind you, but rather, I’m forever falling for nothing at all.

    • Really–you’re going to go broke?! Well, I’m extremely concerned that you feel yourself listing to the side and feel like you could fall over. And falling for nothing at all…? Perhaps you need some staking–please enlist some help. ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. What a beautiful picture and en equally wonderful prayer.. Of.. Life is a prayer.. How you say it or the choice of words makes the ultimate difference. The poem itself is like rhythmic chant flowing in the mind to create a subtle form out of our regular form..
    Thank you so much for sharing this one.. ๐Ÿ™‚
