Peacock’s tail lightly

brushes the tall courtyard wall–

disturbing ants’ march.

  1. gorgeous poem, just loved it gayle, the picture is splendid too.

Happy deepawali! May light, happiness and wealth shower down on your world and stay.

  2. I can just see that as I remember going to the Cape May County Court House Zoo in New Jersey this year and seen a peacock with a ruffled tail scraping the ground…and a couple of chickens near the male peacock….enjoy as I went on another excursion and pics are on facebook for Now….I went up around Saratoga County on a hike today…instead of a climb as the weather was drizzle but when I arrived the spiget was turned off again…why?…subjective reality(+)

    • I’m glad this brought back a fond memory for you. It brings back memories for me too–of that peacock that was “courting” me!

We need to have another chat soon. 🙂 xoxo

  3. I am enamoured of your Haiku. You provide a standard. This one is as dignified as the bird.

  4. Peacock holds a pose
    Her glamor drapes grace unseen
    Organized union

    Aunt Gayle,
    The contrast here was delightful.
Way to fool with the opposition!

  5. What a lovely haiku, UT! Perfectly described my haiku. I would like to explore more of that opposition technique–I have seen it done expertly. Thanks for your visit today. xoxo

  6. When I had shifted to Gurgaon from Delhi- the only “good” thing was PEACOCKs in the block.. Why I say “only” good thing is lot of balancing my Karmas had happened at that stage- Oh I am yet to write about that phase- I would maybe by the end of this month or maybe beginning of next!!

Love and Regards- Wonderful weekend My Dearest one- xoxox

  7. I have lived with peacocks roaming my neighborhood too. When you have the time, you could read my blog about being “courted” by a peacock. Look under the category “Ashram” and you will find it. It’s not very long but it is funny!

I will look forward to reading your experience too. Have a nice, relaxing weekend.

    Gayle xoxo
