Hiking Stick

Hiking Stick?

Hiking stick waiting

for yearning to climb higher–

offering support.

This was inspired by my friend, Soulbro, who loves to hike the mountains.

  4. seems I heard this before..hmmm?…Catskills?…loved it Bodhiriose… πŸ™‚ xo—{–@

    • You shared about your hiking stick–so thought I would write a poem about it and then found that wonderful photo. xoxo πŸ™‚

      • I loved it my Dearest Bodhirose and thanks for sharing as that is just how they did it in the Catskills when we came down for the next person to venture with…Love ya both, that means you too Golden Lotus of God’s Love(+) πŸ™‚
        soulbro* xo—{–@

      • When I found this photo, I was so glad, because it showed so perfectly what you had described to me about the sticks “waiting” for hikers to use them as needed. πŸ™‚ xoxo

  5. simply lovely..

    Glad to do cool Haikus.

  6. A lovely haiku– makes me want to go off tromping through the woods.

  7. lovely haiku πŸ˜€
so much that i love trekking i rarely get a chancde to go
blame it on my work life or my laziness πŸ˜€

    • Oh, thanks, Meg! I could go more often myself–but it’s too dang hot here in Florida in the summer–just now it’s cooling a bit so I feel like I want to get outside. πŸ™‚

      Gayle xoxo

      • so thats the story behind those sticks and this pic πŸ™‚ thanks for explaining.

      • The story behind this is that Soulbro has been going on hikes in the mountains around his home lately and he inspired this poem. He told me about one hiking trail where people would leave hiking sticks for others to borrow if they needed one. And then I found that photo that illustrated it perfectly.

Did you see what I wrote under the poem–that it was inspired by Soulbro.

      • that makes the picture complete. yes i read it on the first time, but missed the part of leaving their sticks for others πŸ™‚

      • I thought that was such a nice thing for the hikers to do for one another–isn’t it?

      • its a very beautiful gesture. there is no doubt about that.

  8. I always enjoy visiting here … and this is just nice.

Makes me feel like I should stop with this cuppa jo and donut and get on the road…move the old bod!

    Have a great day …
    Thanks for a good post.

  9. I’m happy you enjoy visiting, Jamie and liked the post. πŸ™‚

I need to get the old bod moving too–get some energy flowing here!

You have a great day too!

  10. Gayle, this is so meaningful..
“offering support and yearning to climb higher..” Aren’t woman made of the same threads? Always standing as a support, wanting to go beyond. Their dreams are replaced with their loved ones’ and then they learn to walk for them and feel happy for herself.. Like the hiking sticks.. themselves not walking and yet wanting to walk..!!
This is how I looked at it My Dear.. xx

    • Dearest Olivia, I think you are so right. What a nice interpretation that you came up with–you made it sound so noble–many women do have those selfless qualities. I so appreciate your visit and lovely comments.

      • Like I always do- I try to relate everything on a larger view!!
        Reading beyond the words- πŸ™‚
Mom often thought I was crazy- so be it- I like myself for whatever I am.. LOLss

        Love Sweets- xox

  11. I think that’s a good trait to have.

I guess Mom’s aren’t always right, are they?
