Dear friends…

Picture:  Google Images

I may be a bit scarce for a while as I’m in the process of moving.  I’m packing up and heading to Sebastian where my two daughters, and now, new baby granddaughter, Mira lives.  When my daughter and her husband return to work, I’ll be caring for Mira.  I’m really looking forward to this new chapter in my life and creating a loving relationship between Mira and I.

And look forward to getting back into the swing of posting and visiting all of you as soon as I’m settled.

Wish me well!

Blogging Break

A long weekend away from home and then the sudden death of a family member has taken me away from blogging regularly this week.  I hope to be able to get back to it by next week.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving…

Enjoy the holiday,

Enjoy your week!

Anthony

A sweet boy of ten

The youngest of four

Awakened that day

With an ever-widening grin

Getting ready for school

Being helpful to his mother

The morning was going smoothly

He even helped with the meal

I’m going now, I’ll see you all later

Were his words to them all–

A cheerful goodbye,

As he walked slowly away

And as he approached

Where his friends were waiting

At the bus stop nearby

A barreling, speeding truck approached

And his life ended that moment

Traumatized friends saw it happen

The truck driver was arrested

For having no license

And not slowing down

Now his family’s in grief

Broken-hearted and numb

Their beloved, dear Anthony–gone

Sadness… An Announcement

I feel sadness today as I must let you all know that yesterday my daughter  suffered a miscarriage.  Her doctor was lovingly supportive of her as he told her that it is a common occurrence and for her not to worry that she won’t be able to carry a pregnancy to term in the future.  Even though our family is encouraged by his words, we are saddened that she and her husband have to go through this feeling of loss.

I appreciated the happiness that was shared with me as I looked forward to being a grandmother and I still have the hope that that will be the case someday–when the time comes.

Love,

Gayle
