Formless

thoughts carry us here and there
bodiless, formless we’re free to travel
borderless worlds,
all welcoming
no hindrances through ether’s doors

traversing in a blink from here to China
wishing ourselves there is all it takes
engaging it clearly,
through our seeing eye
limitless encounters expand our horizons

gone with the physical are envy and hate
recognition of either has vanished forever
no comparisons
or dread
keep us small
surpassing the corporeal has liberated us all

a universal playground is for us to beckon
consciousness of play brings elation
delighting in each other gets our hearts to spin
nothing detracts from the love we feel

beyond all that is negative
we rest in peace
deathless, birthless, we’re merged with the whole
creating our world by unique perception
while beaming compassion
to every particle that exists

Chazinator invites us to write on alien worlds of our making over at dVerse Poets:  http://dversepoets.com/2012/06/07/where-in-the-world/  Why don’t you give it a whirl?

  2. This theme of going beyond the physical confines of the body is very powerful. It exhibits such a strong desire in the human spirit to be one with the universe and to eradicate those obstacles that obviously instill a harsh desire to dwell on differences and thereby find pretexts for harming and hating others. Your poem is marvelous in how it draws us into those possibilities.

    • I love that possibility too…a fascinating prospect. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this, Chaz.

deathless, birthless, we’re merged with the whole
creating our world by unique perception

  9. Wouldn’t that be a wonder…if there was no hate, envy, greed or any of it even remembered.
This is a lovely write. Ethereal and other worldly. I would love to close my eyes and ‘think’ myself in other places, how cool would that be!~! :)

  13. I like this one very much, Gayle. I think you’ve gt a potential here to cover one of the seven deadly sins. I like your world. I believe I would like to join you wherever it is.

    • Thanks, Izzy. Well, I still am in my “form” stage so aren’t quite there yet…but someday..it’s an encouraging thought. Izzy, what are the other “sins” that will be covered in that competition? Couldn’t really tell the status of what had been covered and what was upcoming. Glad you liked this.

      Namaste…

      • These are the Seven Deadly Sins for the contest. Pride –Envy – Gluttony – Lust – Anger – Greed – Sloth
Gluttony and Envy have been completed. The next one was just posted on Katies blog and it is Sloth. The entry submit box isn’t due to her illness. It will be going up. She giving everyone extra time to work on it. Your writing has always been enjoyble to read. Give it a try … Really, don’t have a doubt. You will be great.
        Namaste ….

        • Thanks so much, Isadora. When I go to the site, I seem to have trouble finding the contest and which “sin” is currently being offered. I did write something but it ended up sounding more like “pride” than “sloth”…maybe a combination…haha. Oh well, I’ll keep trying. Namaste..

  16. “creating our world by unique perception” <—we do, indeed. :) Nirvana to be this free and empty, eh? I hope we both get there, Gayle. It's nice to be able to experience even glimpses of it, as you have shown in this remarkable poem here. Thanks so much for sharing the vibe! :D
