Harmonic Concert

Newness envelopes all in the garden
Delicate buds and shoots appear sudden
Overnight her work is apparent
Nature’s spontaneous joy is bidden

Schefflera displays its umbrella
Baby’s breath, like a laced mantilla,
Emits its honey-fragranced scent
Twining begins the mandevilla

Potted roses burst their red
Spent twigs and leaves have all been shed
Orchids prime to flaunt their stuff
New staghorn fern gets set to spread

Life renews after lying inert
Intrinsic rhythm reasserts
Vortex whirls and makes it hum
The cycle of life…harmonic concert

  7. Ah, they cycle (or concert) of nature, complete with its repeating chorus. You know it will come, but you’re never quite sure what it will bring…

    Nicely done.

    • There seemed to be very little dormancy for us this year…it felt like spring (or summer) throughout the winter. No, we never know what’s in store for us.

      Thanks, Lorna.

    • Thanks so much…I appreciate that! We barely had any cool temperatures throughout our winter this year. Very strange…and now summer has already come…so hot here already. Good luck with your mandevilla…I just love them….had a pink one years ago.
