Run!

The wind picked up.  Far off in the distance, dark, ominous clouds were quickly moving toward us.  We hurried to gather our things off the beach and make it to the car before the first, large splats of rain were felt.  A quick flash outlined us against the black sky…a sharp crack sent us running.

    • It’s not so much the lightning as the sometimes deafening thunder that booms right over your house…that’s when an involuntary yelp comes out of me. :)

    • It’s supposed to rain tomorrow…we’ll see how much blowing happens. Florida is close to being the lightning capital of the world…I’ve seen more than my fair share.

    • Yeah, you might just beat me to the car…or it might be a tie! You don’t want to be on an open beach with lightning bolts zinging around! Thanks, Talon.

  6. Reminds me of a time when my sisters and I had a stand off with a major storm. We were drenched but determined to stand outside and ride it out. Then one huge crack of thunder that shook our insides sent up scrambling inside for cover. We screamed and everything. It was thrilling! :)

    • Nice story, Lorna–thrilling is right. I’ve screamed out loud before too…you sometimes just can’t help it! :)

    • I don’t usually mind storms but sometimes the high winds and thunder and lightning can be a bit intimidating.

Well, let me see what you have for me…what a surprise. I wasn’t on my blog yesterday, so apologize for seeing this a day late.

    • Many of our summer days at the beach or lake can end just like this. Those afternoon thunderstorms send you running.

So happy to see your visits today, Jamie. I’ve missed your presence and welcome your visits whenever you’re able.

coffee table in our living room, created by an artist, that has lightening
bolts for legs. So funny …!!! This is a great little stories. I enjoyed the images

    • When my Dad was alive he got into photography and loved to run off to nearby lakes to capture lightning bolts over the water when a storm came through…it’s a miracle he didn’t get zapped. I have one of his great shots hanging in my living room…a brilliant flash of light on the water. :)

I’ll bet that table is really cool, Izzy…and yes, fun! Thanks! xoxo
