Come Back

Only for sport,
just for fun,
I throw you
hard to have
you return.
Spinning,
whirling,
around and
around, my
boomerang
comes back
to me, each
and every time.
Capable of pain,                                           Red Spot II, Wallisy Kandinsky
capable of maim,
but I only wield you
for the joy and game.

When I saw the prompt for Mag 102, I immediately saw boomerangs!  My entry for Magpie Tales:  http://magpietales.blogspot.com/

  1. nice…for most of this you seem to capture a dance as well…and yeah the game carries a certain level of risk for sure…hopefully no one gets maimed…smiles.

    • Isn’t that funny… This reminded me that I have had dreams where I’m throwing a boomerang…I wonder what that was about???

  4. The picture reminds me of what damage a boomerang could do. But I like your interpretation better…

Oh, dear. Well, I’m thinking of love, of course; a difficult relationship. K.

      Thank you very much, Helen.

  7. Excellent interpretation! I think the only boomerang I would feel comfortable throwing would be of the Nerf variety. :) No maiming or pain with those!

It is so different from what I would have seen.

    • It’s the first shape that jumped out at me so I went with it. I also see Michael’s koala…
I wonder what you do see, Izzy…?

      • It looks like a distorted face. Distorted because it is smiling so intensely that the face becomes misshaped. The eys are the two circles; the nose is the red triangle; the mouth is the colorful booerang shape and the birght color seem really, really happy.
        The imagination running wild …

    • Thanks. I decided to go with something brighter. That photo is a bowl of shells that I’ve found on the Gulf coast over the years…it’s in my living room. :) xoxo
